The artists are constantly bringing in new work to the gallery. Yesterday
Red Wolf, a founding member from Potter Valley, hung several new pieces
created in his unique and beautiful brushed aluminum honeycomb method.
Working in a new medium, he has also created a translucent
polycarbonate-based free standing sculpture mounted on a copper base.
This new artwork has optical properties of dichroic glass, but is achieved with Red Wolf's layering painting processes.
Earlier this week, Cassie Gibson hung a new silk wall hanging made from dupionni silk — dyed, overdyed, discharged, screen printed, hand painted, and stitched. It is part of a four-piece series on the seasons — each one created using different processes. Cassie says, "I love the fall with the leaves floating around and the earth colors glimmering. Hence the silk leaves scattered. I enjoy the process of creation — I preplan only partially."
Adriana Dakin has new ceramic platters with brushwork of horses, hills, and red suns, and more arriving tomorrow.
Stop by soon! We are featuring Gallery Specials from October 31st to November 2nd — select pieces throughout the gallery will be on sale.
