It will be classic car show weekend, make a quilt of your favorite car, or something else. This class is appropriate for beginners as well as experienced quilters. Should know how to use sewing machine for free motion quilting or hand stitch work.  Please bring lunch or bring take out from nearby restaurant.  Textile artist Laura Fogg's work has been published in numerous books and magazines both in US and abroad. She has two pieces currently in nationwide traveling shows. She teaches art collage quilting classes throughout northern California.

Origins of Color Found Within Us: Five Element Acupuncture

The elements in nature give us color. The elements of nature alive in us give us the expression of color through art.  Learn about and become more connected to the elements in nature that live in you.  In ancient China, before there was a China, life burst forth from the five elements, fire, earth, metal, water and wood. Learn the colors of the elements, how they are expressed through art.  We will create art based on what we found at the root of our artistic expression.  Answers can be found to "artists block", why color preferences, and more, as we dive into our true nature as an artist through the true nature of color. $50 includes both days.

Art History and Appreciation

Keith will discuss Art History and Appreciation as an ongoing Thursday evening series. The class will be an informal study of painting examples taken from the Metropolitan Museum of Art Seminars (out-of print). Discussions will be on European and American art dating from the 17th to 20th century. $15 per session.


Abstraction Painting Workshop

July 11, 18, and 25 (Sat), from 1:00 to 3:00 pm

Tim is instructing and demonstrating abstract painting. The first session will include a short discussion about modernism and its place in art history. We will paint a rendition of a work and use it as a reference point. You will need to pick up a supply list at the Art Center Ukiah’s Corner Gallery. Bring a painting (or photo) or a particular artist name with you. $120 includes all three sessions.

Come learn ceramic coil sculpture building while we delve into our imaginations to make clay-animated animals. Using the coil method and colored slip we will be building and coloring on the day of class, then the animals will be returned after they have been fired in the kiln, at a later date. $60, materials included.

Professional dance instructor Julie teaches a 4-week session for adults of all levels. This is an active dance class with plenty of individual instruction. $20 per session, $15 in advance for 4-week session (4 classes for $60).

Art braiding is a historic art form found in many countries worldwide and well known in Colonial America. Thrifty American women recycled old woolen clothing into braids, then made rugs, pot holders, mats, belts, baskets and more. Continuing in this tradition, Arlene recycles materials and teaches the basic craft of braiding the fabric and joining the braids to craft a small project of our choice. For ages 8 and up. The price includes all materials! $35.

A small class for students 6 to 15 years old. Older students may enroll by special request to the artists. Learn to put color in your ink drawings. Create cartoons, turning them into real animals, using shapes and lines.
