Part of my artwork interest is in creating large custom artwork for public and commercial spaces. This year I have been preparing for a large job in Los Angeles for the United Oil Company.
I am being commissioned to provide what will be around 1000 square feet of artwork. This painting will be created here in Potter Valley in my studio and then shipped south to be installed. I will paint on a collection of 4'x8' aluminum panels to collectively become the ceiling and part of the walls for this project.
This mural will be a full size Gray Whale seen from underneath, as if you are able to walk under the whale while it swims overhead. This is a fun project, and when it is done will be the biggest paintings I will have ever created.
The building is still in the design and construction stages but I should begin my painting here in my studio before the end of the year. So far, I have submitted design mock ups and am coordinating with the faux stone guys and the engineers to prepare for the interior. When it is in full swing, I will post photos.
I am going to need help on this project from an artist interested in being involved in big projects. If you are looking for custom artwork for your home or business, I really enjoy getting involved in one-of-a-kind projects. So if you fit either of these descriptions, contact me through the gallery.
